Twin Lake buyan & Tamblingan lakes

The twin lakes are a view with two lakes that are very beautiful to watch on top of the mountains, apart from the natural scenery being very beautiful, it is also because the temperature is very cool here, they are around 18 degrees Celsius.

The view of the lake that appears to be on the other side is separated by a small piece of land which shows the amazing work of nature. Seeing the green forest and fortified by large trees provokes our adventurous spirit to explore, making it feel like our soul is free and at one with nature. This lake view consists of two lakes, namely Tamblingan Lake and Buyan Lake. each information is as follows:

Tamblingan lake

Tamblingan Lake is a lake located on the northern slopes of Mount Lesung, Munduk Village area, Banjar District, Buleleng Regency, Bali. This lake is one of three twin lakes formed in a large caldera. To the east there are Lake Buyan and Lake Beratan respectively. Flanked by surrounding forests and due to its location in the highlands, this lake has a cool climate.

In this lake area there are 11 temples that make this lake feel sacred.

As a natural tourist attraction, Lake Tamblingan is not being developed towards modern tourism in order to preserve nature and the environment. The main attraction of this place is not only its natural charm, but also the many temples which store the history and development of Balinese civilization and culture, especially regarding the formation and development of Tamblingan Village.

People crossing at Tamblingan Lake
It is said that in the 10th to 14th centuries, the Tamblingan Lake area was a settlement whose center was on Mount Lesung to the south of the lake. For some reason the population then moved to four different areas which were still close to the lake area. The four villages were then called Catur Desa, which means four villages, namely: Munduk, Gobleg, Gesing and Umejero Villages. These four villages have spiritual ties and have the responsibility and obligation to maintain the sanctity of the lake and the temples around it.

The name Tamblingan comes from two words in Balinese, namely Tamba meaning medicine, and Elingang meaning memory or spiritual ability. It is told in the Lontar Kutara Kanda Dewa Purana Bangsul that the people in that area are said to have been hit by an epidemic.

As a way out, someone who is purified then goes down to the small lake below the village to get water for medicine. Thanks to his prayers and spiritual abilities, the water was then used as medicine and was able to heal the village community. Over time, the words Tamba and Elingang became Tamblingan.

Due to this civilization, there are many temples in the Lake Tamblingan area. These pretense include:

Dalem Tamblingan Temple
Endek Temple
Ulun Danu and Sang Hyang Kangin Temples
Sang Hyang Kawuh Temple
Gubug Temple
Tirta Mengening Temple
Naga Loka Temple
Temple Carving, Steaming
Embang Temple
Timbang Temple
Batulepang Temple etc

It should be noted that Pura Embang and Pura Tukang Timbang are small temple areas built from "bebaturan" stone. It is estimated that this temple is a relic of pre-Hindu people who lived in this area before the 10th century AD.

Buyan Lake

Buyan Lake is a lake located in the Pancasari Village area, Sukasada District, Buleleng Regency, Bali. This lake is one of three twin lakes formed in a large caldera. It is flanked by two other lakes, namely Lake Tamblingan to the west and Lake Beratan to the east. Buyan Lake is the largest of the three. Buyan Lake is the largest of the 3 lakes in the Bedugul area with an area of 490 hectares with a maximum depth of 89 meters.

Between Lake Buyan and Tamblingan, which are separated by approximately one kilometer of forest, there is a pond which is directly connected to Lake Buyan via a narrow canal. The community calls this pool Telaga Aya.

That's a brief description from Wikipedia sources.
However, don't ask about the beauty of this lake, especially when it's a little cloudy or we stop by this place quite early in the morning to take pictures. You don't need to adjust your camera again and adjust it again because now is the right time to take pictures. especially in the morning when the lake shows its advantages when the smoke rises from the surface of the lake water.
