 Tampak Siring Temple

The Seeking Siring Temple is one of the temples that takes part in the big holiday in Bali called Galungan. The Look Siring Temple is one of the temples which was a place that was created during the flight of the cruel Balinese king at that time.

Starting from the 9th century when Bali was ruled by King Jaya Kesunu, whose name was very popular, many of these stories were immortalized in ancient songs which served as guidelines for behavior.

Let's explore it together by including it in the tour program

When Bali at that time was ruled by his son who had the title Maya Denawa, Maya Denawa was a king with immense supernatural powers so that in all of Bali no one dared to use his leadership but he was a little harsh, cruel in his leadership, the worst thing was that he forbade worshiping God.

where all the people were commanded to worship him. His cruelty never stopped until one of the priests did a strict meditation to ask for help from the god of war, namely the god Indra. according to one of the books that I read, it is possible that this god Indra was the King of the Besakih kingdom.

Then the god Indra decided to attack the Balinese king Maya Denawa at that time, he was defeated so he fled south with his maha patih, every village that As an escapee, he was given a name according to the knowledge he held, such as Manuk Kaya, namely a big chicken.

Then he tilted his foot and called the village Tampaksiring. in this village we focus because this temple was created here when he stepped here he realized that god Indra's army must be tired so he made a poisonous babling water

It's true that the troops from Dewa Indra, because they lost track, rested for a while, because they were tired, they looked for a spring for them to drink and found a spring created by King Maya Denawa, then they drank it, after a few moments they were in pain because of the poisoning.

Dewa Indra realized that this water had been poisoned so he created a spring to cure this poison so that the Tita Empul spring appeared to be shining before King Maya Denawa was killed in one of the rivers to the west of Tirta Empul.

Maya Denawa changed its form to resemble river water and Dewa Indra knew it and shot at this water so that a screaming sound came out and this river was given the name Petanu...

consisting of the words "petane enu" which means only his voice can still be heard. when he died to remember and avoid similar incidents, this is when the Balinese people celebrate the big day of the victory of good over evil.

Tirta Empul Temple was built around a large spring in 962 AD during the Warmadewa dynasty by king Sri Candrabhayasingha Warmadewa (from the 10th to the 14th century).

The name of the temple comes from the spring which is called "Tirta Empul". The spring comes from the Pakerisan river. The temple is divided into 3 parts; Jaba Pura (front page), Jaba Tengah (middle page) and Jeroan (inner page). Central Jaba consists of 2 pools with 30 showers which are named as follows: Pengelukatan, Peringan, and Sudamala as well as Pancuran Catik (racun).

This temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the name of the Hindu god for the highest consciousness Narayana. On the left side of the temple there is a modern villa building on a hill called the Tampaksiring Palace, built for President Sukarno's visit to Bali in 1954, which is now used as a resting place for important state guests.

Water quality
For most of the time, Tirta Empul was believed to be a source of clean water which was considered holy water used for Hindu rituals. However, water quality began to deteriorate due to contamination from the surrounding area.

In August 2017, visitors were urged not to use the on-site facilities because E.coli had contaminated the water, caused by local residents carelessly throwing their rubbish into open water, and drainage into rivers. The contamination likely resulted in at least one person developing a severe eye infection and nearly losing their sight due to the aggressive infection.
